New Beginings for pinetown

Pre season training has started at pinetown rugby for those of you who didnt know, and with that comes the job of get the correct structures in place for the season ahead. This task falls to our newly elected commitee and most of all our new chairman Phillip Pieterse. The changes are flying in thick and fast, one such change is that Pinetown Rugby Club will now officially be known as Pinetown Raiders, with an exciting new club bage design.
It is also with great sadness that we had to say good bye to long time 1st team coach Colin James Patterson or sups as we all knew him, but this has allowed a great opportunity for the club to move forward into a new era with fresh old blood in the form of a new head coach, no im not going to tell you just yet who it is......you'll have check back for our interview with him in my next post....
So if youve been onto our facebook page you would have seen that two designs for this years jerseys were put up for you to vote on.....and it looks likewe have a winner.(see pic attached)
So if you havent joined yet what are you waiting for?

Year end braai

Pinetown Rugby Club has gone through some drastic changes over the past few weeks. Not only with club renovations on the cards, but also with the membership of the Club. Pinetown Rugby Club recently held the annual AGM meeting where a new committee was selected to lead th Club into the new season, and with it into new glory. The new committee has promissed to bring back the 'Professional Area of Rugby' once associated with Pinetown Rugby Club. Along with implimenting new structures, renovations of the Club House and re-branding of the institution, the Committee has put into place a "Five Year Plan" to rebuild Pinetown Rugby Club back to the Glory it deserves. Id also like to congradulate Phillip on being voted in as the new chairman, we look forward to the changes that are going to be implimented in the new season.
Also this week looks to be the last of the touch for the year but if there are guys still interested in playing or keeping fit keep in touch via facebook, also look out for the Pinetown Rugbyy Club twitter page coming soon.

Bloem defence force rugby 7s visit

A touring side from Bloemfontien visited the Pinetown rugby club today for a friendly game of 7s. In total two games were played between the two team. Both games were played in good spirit and fun was had by all. Pinetown opened the scoring in the first game running in two easy tries, but the the second half was a diferrent story with the visitors 7s experiance coming through, running in four unanswered tries.
The second game started in where the 1st one left off, with the visitors running a try in the 1st half and another in the second. Pinetown who didnt start of as well only scoring one try in the first half, made a great come back scroing two tries in the second half.
Fun was had by all and we look to make this an annual event with bloem defence force rugby promising to visit again next year.
